SHAKEFEST REGIONAL FINALS 2019 The Shakefest Regional Finals were held last Friday with 21 students representing the school in Dance, Monologue, Duologue and Scene. Students were required to prepare their item and document it using video. The students were exceptionally behaved on the night demonstrating an extremely high standard in their chosen strand. Special mention should be made of the Year 8 students from our APEX Program, the youngest students to represent the school at a Shakefest since we've been competing. Go the Rhinos!!!!

MATHS TEAMS CHALLENGE 2019 | WINNERS Congratulations to our teams that competed at the recent Maths Teams Challenge. Intermediate team A - 1st place Have come first for the third year running. AG SHOW TEAM RESULTS | MT GRAVATT SHOW The Ag Show recebtly competed at the Mt Gravatt Show achieving the follwoing results: * Our 4 tooth ram “Cruze” was the Interbreed Champion Ram of the show * “Barry” our Southdown ram was Champion Southdown Ram and “Freda” our young Southdown lamb was the Champion ewe. * Stephanie won the Young Judge’s Competition and now qualifies for the State Championships in Toowoomba next year.

SOUTH DISTRICT CHAMPIONS | YR10 BOYS RUGBY LEAGUE Congratulations to the Year 10 Boys Rugby League team for winning the South District championship. They played their first round of Metropolitan Finals this week defeating Clairvaux McKillop 38 - 12 and have made it through to the 2nd round. Go the Rhinos!!

APEX INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC | STRINGS The Instrumental Music program for strings keeps on growing at Rochedale SHS with a great mix of younger APEX students and senior students. Today the students from the strings instrumental music program performed on full school assembly. The ensemble played Storm Rider by Timo Jarvela to great applause. Well done Ms Randall and students. QCS PREPARATION 2019 This week was the Year 12’s final QCS preparation session. The Student Council provided a cake to wish our QCS students good luck for next week. Go the Rhinos!!!

STUDENTS vs TEACHERS NETBALL 2019 Well done to the students for a narrow victory in the annual Students vs Teacher's netball game. That makes it 2 - 1 in favour for the teachers this year. Basketball to come in Term 4. Go the Rhinos!!!

FATHER'S DAY STALL It's Fathers Day on Sunday! The Middle School Committee are running a Fathers Day stall before school and at morning tea on Thursday and Friday this week. Great quality gifts for dads, granddads and uncles are available including themed mugs, photo frames, BBQ aprons & mitts, travel mugs, glasses and much more. Prices range from $1 to $6.

RAS TOUCH FOOTBALL NEWS Tuesday saw our RAS Touch Football girls travel to Redeemer Lutheran College for the second round of our friendly competition. Our U13 and U15 Girls took on our neighbourhood rivals for two convincing wins to remain undefeated in our games this term. The games were played in great spirit and competition and we are hoping to make these games an annual event - the battle of Priestdale Road. Great work Rhinos.
