Our sister motel the Augusta Budget on the east side of town also has a number of rooms which are pet friendly too. All the way back in year 2000 Steve and Robyn Holland released a book titled 'Australians: The People and their stories'. The head of our family Dr Devinder Grewal was selected to be part of this book. Whilst the Turban isn't the everyday attire for most Australians, we think it would be a pretty hard task to find someone who embodies the Aussie spirit more than him. Here is the closing excerpt from his story and we think it is great: "Rather than worrying about the dollars and cents, if you look at every person you meet as a salesperson for you, then you can't go wrong. It's the type of people you meet and the memories you have that are more important anyhow" The beard has definitely gone full white now and even the glasses (slightly) updated but the sentiment remains the same at The Standpipe. If you happen to see him in the restaurant or around the motel definitely stop him for a yarn, that's if he doesn't stop you first!
