MEET OUR TEAM! Jacob Marr is one of our newest team members, commencing as a subbie with us in March. He says the best thing about being a part of the DMP team is that we are easy to work with and easy to communicate with. Jacob is a Collingwood Magpies fan but we can’t hold that against him. Jacob doesn’t have anything on his bucket list. This is because if he wants to do something, he just does it, which includes buying his own house at the ripe old age of 21. His hobbies include dirt bikes and riding his Harley with his mates; we’d be happier if he took up chess or something less enticing to injuries. Jacob enjoys working in the variety of roles that DMP offers as he gets to experience using tools he hasn’t previously been able to. Thanks for all of your hard work Jacob, we hope you’re enjoying your time at DMP!

MEET OUR TEAM! Colac has a population of approximately 10 people, and we seem to employ half of them at DMP. Aidan ‘Donny’ Spence is one such employee, joining our team a few months ago along with Danny Allan (who he also shares a house with). He was inspired to become a plumber because it was easier to quit school and work for his Dad (nawww thanks Daddy Spence!). Donny enjoys working for DMP because of the people he gets to work with and the different aspects of plumbing he gets to work on each day. His proudest moment at DMP is anything that Dave is happy with. Donny is on fast track to become the new favourite team member due to his love of the Hawks. The Alvie Reserves, sorry SENIORS player travels back to Colac each week for footy matches however its still not enough as he wants to do more travelling whenever he can. Donny’s favourite flick is Braveheart, and he’s brave to suggest he’d like to manage a few blokes like Dale does… be careful what you wish for Donny as it may come true. He's has achieved a lot in his short time at DMP, including learning a few different aspects of plumbing different from his previous job. Donny is a self-confessed good bloke, and we have to agree. We’re so glad you have chosen to join our team Donny, we feel like you’ve been around a lot longer. Thank you for all of your hard work, we look forward to having you around for a long time.

MEET OUR TEAM! DMP is a family business, and we can’t be a family business without employing our family! Jennifer Sherman, our Jen, is Dave’s little cousin. The one not from Colac. Jen started with us to get us through a busy period of admin, when Cat dropped the ball (and had another baby). We (Cat and Aunty Sue had coffee) agreed that it would be great for us to solve a short-term staff problem, and Jen would have a flexible job to compliment her busy cricket and Uni schedule. Fast forward 7 or so months later, and Jen has embedded herself as a vital part of the DMP administrative team. Jen has a Bachelor of Archaeology degree, which basically means she is well equipped to use all of our digging equipment when she FINALLY agrees to become our first female plumber! Nah not really, she isn’t allowed to leave her desk job. Ever. Jen says she enjoys working for DMP because of its family environment, and she feels her work is appreciated by everyone (which it is!). Her proudest achievements to date are setting up our tool registry of everyone’s tools in a single morning and getting a handle on our accounting and cloud based software. Jen is a brilliant cricketer and footballer, and also a big Bombers fan, who would love the opportunity to travel to Egypt and work on an archaeological site there. Jen would swap roles with any of the guys with utes. She really wants a ute. She says she’s learnt so much about how a small business runs behind the scenes, and although she is constantly learning new things, she’s achieved a greater knowledge of working in administration here at DMP. Jen, we can honestly say employing you was one of the best decisions we have made for our business. The procedures and protocols you’ve put in place has turned us from a small business functioning reactively to problems, to a professional operation working proactively. Thank you for managing to inaugurate all the things we wanted to do, but never had the time to!

MEET OUR TEAM! The first rule of parenting is to never have a favourite child, and if you do, you aren’t supposed to admit it. But the first is always kind of special, right? Paul Spiteri, or Spit, was our first ever full time employee at DMP. We took a risk and employed him when we weren’t sure we’d have enough work for him each week. He took a risk and trusted in us and our vision, and thankfully it paid off. Paul is our Maintenance Manager and, along with Dale, looks after all of our workers and day to day Operations at DMP. Paul first became a plumber as he wanted a hands-on trade career. He says the best thing about DMP is that it has a good team environment and a good mix of people with different experience and knowledge. His proudest achievement is building good relationships with customers, and getting good reviews and reports back from clients (we have a lot to thank Paul for with our high Google Review rating). The Western Suburbs boy is a proud Bulldogs fan, who has travelling on his bucket list, although it will need to be family friendly to accommodate his beautiful wife Carlee and their baby boy Rafferty. Paul would most like to swap roles with Dale, as he’d love to learn more about the new build and construction side of DMP. During his time at DMP thus far, he has gained a wider knowledge of plumbing and gained a good relationship with our clients. They say no one is irreplaceable. That may be true. But Paul, don’t even think about leaving us; I can’t deal with Dave’s mood when you dare to take an annual leave day! Thank you for helping us to create what our business is today.

MEET OUR TEAM! One of the newest members to join the DMP team is Danny Allen. Danny hails from the Colac region of Victoria, as does our Director (it’s not what you know eh?). He said he was inspired to be a plumber when his mate Liam McGuane said he was going to (although Liam has since chosen to play around with cows instead). He said the best thing about working at DMP is the variety of work we have, and the good blokes he gets to work with. Clearly Jen and I don’t count. His proudest achievement at DMP was saving a builder money by doing a job no one else wanted to do. The Alvie FC player has travelled a lot through Europe with his lovely fiancée Mel, however he hopes to travel to South America in the future. Danny would most want to swap roles with Dale at DMP, because he is wanting to learn more aspects about the plumbing trade and trying the administration side. He said working for DMP has gotten him out of his comfort zone, and moved to Melbourne for the position. Danny, we are so glad you took the leap to move to the city. We love having you as part of our team and think you’ve made a great choice to develop your plumbing career with us.

MEET OUR TEAM! Dale Exon is our Construction Manager, and we can only say nice things about him as he is a Master Instructor in Taekwondo. Dale was inspired to be a plumber as a teenager when he worked in a metal foundry, and hasn’t looked back. Dale says the best thing about working for DMP is that we work together to get the job done (I thought that was what Bob the Builder said??) and his proudest moment was being promoted to Construction Manager. His number one thing on his bucket list to tick off is to visit China and Japan, and has visited South Korea previously. Dale’s favourite movie is Deadpool. Dale would most like to trade places with Aaron at work because 1st year apprentices have no responsibilities or concerns (I should really leave this stuff out..). Dale, we’re so glad you chose to take a job with us, as we can’t imagine DMP without you as our Construction Manager! Thanks for everything!

MEET OUR TEAM! Corey is our second year apprentice and second son! Jokes. Corey began his apprenticeship as he was passionate about plumbing, and thinks the best thing about DMP is working in a friendly environment. His number 1 thing on his bucket list is to travel more, and his favourite movie is ‘The Waterboy’. Corey would most like to swap places with Dale at work, because it would be nice to have a bit of a break. But I’m sure he agrees that the mass amount of plumbing knowledge he said he’s learned from DMP was from Dale also. The ever humble Corey finds it hard to list his greatest quality as he has too many. Corey, you have grown so much in the time that you have been with us, work extremely hard and provide never a dull moment. You’re an important member of the DMP team and we look forward to watching your continued journey with us.

MEET OUR TEAM! Adrian is our 3rd year apprentice, and is a local Werribee boy. He was drawn to the plumbing industry by the lure of a good career. He likes working for the DMP team as he’d always learning new things every day and he works with good people. Adrian has had a baptism of fire, like a lot of our other plumbers, due to the ever changing and challenging nature of the work we take on, and his proudest achievement to date is installing a 50mm copper gas line at a high specification job we have at Deepdene. The Tiger’s fan would also like to go skydiving, and he’d most like to swap roles with Paul at work because he does nothing (I’m sure it’s your shout for a while when Paul reads this Adrian…). Adrian has been a brilliant addition to our team, and we are very excited to keep watching him grow with us.

MEET OUR TEAM! Aaron Kantar is the youngest member of our DMP team, and hails from Point Cook. 'Champ' has almost completed his first year, having gained his apprenticeship with us through work experience, which he is very proud of (as are we!). Aaron was inspired to be a plumber so he could help others out with things they couldn't do, and says the best thing about DMP is his workmates that he finds good to work with. This Bulldogs fan would like to tick skydiving off his bucket list (it's all good Aaron that's what Workcover is for...) and would most want to swap roles with Paul at DMP (don't we all?!). Thanks for being such a great apprentice Aaron, keep up the good work!
