Brighter Future Cat Rescue is a western Sydney based rescue organisation run by a dedicated family and amazing feline loving foster carers.
Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and eventually re-home them to a permanent indoor home or ones with enclosures are ideally preferred, the last thing that we would want is that they end up back on the street dealing with everyday dangers that comes with cats being outside.
Each cat is provided with a loving foster home where they are then socialised and if need be any vet treatment will be done before finding their perfect forever home.
Each and every cat will be re-homed with up to date vaccinations (generally all three kitten vac’s unless adopted before they can all be done) desexed, microchipped, up to date with parasite protection and treated for any other illnesses that may occur while in care.
Photographer Needed:
To help aid in finding these gorgeous kitties homes we are always in need of someone to take stunning pictures, so if you feel you can possibly help please contact us directly – Who wouldn’t like to spend their time playing….. I mean working with cats.
Foster Carers:
Foster carers open their homes and hearts to care for kittens and cats that are in dire need of someone to care for them until they can find their fur-ever homes. It is an essential part of any rescue which enables us to maximise the number of cats we can help each year.

Update on the babies. They have been to the vets who have prescribed eye cream and Vibravet. They need their eyes cleaned and to put on a lot of weight before their surgery can be done to remove their eyes. They are only 4 to 5 weeks and are very underweight for their age. We have a lovely lady looking after them for the time being and very close to our vets. She is doing a wonderful job. Once we are able to move a few kittens in care to other foster carers they will come into care with our lovely vet nurse foster carer Belinda. Thanks ever so much to all the people who have donated towards their care. We are truly grateful.
We have been asked to help these little babies. It looks like their eyes are about to rupture. They need urgent medical care and treatment. They are around 5 weeks of age and were found on the street. We are really full to the brim with so many new arrivals which we haven't had time to post about yet. Some kittens being kicked around by children with their parents looking on and laughing and other kittens who people were threatening to drown. We have worked our butts off this week back and forth to vets, transporting and moving cats around to carers. We have spoken to the Police and the RSPCA about this abuse and they didn't seem to care. We also have a 8 month old kitten come into care last night who is 1.4kg so the size of a 4 month old. We rushed him to our vets and it looks like he has a liver shunt. Will need further testing. It hasn't been a good week. If anyone can help with fostering kittens in care so one of our experienced carers can take these little babies on, donate any food or litter, help with vet bills for these little kittens and help with transport. We have keyrings, picture frames and sleighs to help fundraise. We have ordered more pens just waiting for them to arrive. Please please pm the page If you can help in any way. These babies need us. Thanks so much.
Please share the story of Harley that our lovely friends at Rescue Cat Project wrote about finding our little girl a special home. We are truly grateful for their help. Harlequin aka Harley - a precious little one deserving a quiet forever home ~ Location - Mt Druit, Sydney This adorable little tortie kitten is just 6 months old and is very lucky indeed to have ended up with our friend Sharon from Brighter Future Cat Rescue. Harley is currently in foster care with vet nurse Belinda who has provided her with premium care. Sharon and Belinda noticed that Harley had a deformed chest and was also very tiny. She was certainly fortunate that Sharon took her to the vets for an X-Ray showed there was an abnormality. Thanks to the generosity of Sharon and supporters of their group they were able to fund a visit to SASH (Small Animal Specialist Hospital) and under specialist care by Dr Andrew Marchevsky a CT scan under sedation showed that her sternum is pushing her heart resulting in a heart murmur (Grade 2). The specialists recommended that no surgery be performed but instead to focus on getting this little lady into a very quiet home. Sharon said she's like a little china doll and ideally needs to be in a home with adults rather than young children - mainly because it is important for her not to be picked up the wrong way. She could even be in a home with other friendly cats and dogs although it is imperative that there not be any rough play. There's something special about little fragile cats like Harley and we are sure someone out there will consider it a privilege to provide this little lady a forever home. Harley will be desexed early next week and is microchipped, vaccinated and flea and worm treated. If you are tempted to find out more in view of providing her with a forever home please private message Sharon via Brighter Future Cat Rescue https://www.facebook.com/Brighter-future-cat-rescue-242606842611476/ or email sharonmcnaught@msn.com Good luck beautiful Harlequin ~IttyBittyKitty xx

These are the little babies we saved from Blacktown Pound 10 days ago who only had a few hours to live. Please meet Ares, Finn and Miles. All smoochy, cuddly and living and loving life to the fullest. Will be looking for pre adoptions in the near future. Belinda you have done a wonderful job of caring for them as always.
We have received some really sad news from our vets. Bindi who was surrendered to our rescue back in April has early stages of kidney disease. Bindi came to us as a 12 week old kitten (first main photo). Bindi was totally frightened and used to shake with fear when she was first surrendered. She is now 10 months old and 2.2kg. She has always been small and a bit odd. The vets could never quite put their finger on it if she was autistic or had a bit of brain damage. She was slow with her milestones and we were advised to hold off on her desexing. We had bloods taken as we didn't want to risk anything happening to Bindi and kidney disease was found. She has a shorter than normal life expectancy and may need medications in the future. Bindi had had a fantastic life so far being with wonderful foster carers, the first being Yianni and his family and then Georgia and her family and I can't thank them enough. Georgia will continue to foster care for Bindi. This is a congenital condition and so unfair for Bindi. Life is so unfair.
Our auction finishes tomorrow at 10pm. Every cent raised goes towards helping the cats and kittens in care. Thanks to everyone who has participated and helped our rescue. We can't do this without you guys. We have been asked to take on some kittens who have been abandoned and left for dead. Please join and keep bidding.
