Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Peakhurst
Description
The Parish Leadership Team, Priests, and Parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima, welcome you to our vibrant, unique and welcoming parish.
Our Lady of Fatima has been functioning without a resident Parish Priest since 1988. We are annexed to St Declan’s Penshurst with St Declan’s priests Fr Chris Ryan mgl (Parish Priest), Fr Steve Fletcher mgl (Administrator), and Frs Adam Crouch mgl, Antony Santhiyagu mgl and Isuru Weliwatte mgl (Assistant Priests) ministering to the Parish. The Parish was chosen to be a model responsible for its own administration and day to day operations.
Prior to 1988 there were few ministries functioning in our parish, however, once given the opportunity, ministries were created to fulfil our needs and continue to do so with many parishioners actively involved.

Fatima Centenary Celebrations at OLF Peakhurst
Our parish Liturgy Committee has planned our Saturday night vigil mass on 13th May to incorporate elements commemorating the appearance of Our Lady at Fatima. Our celebration will commence in the car park with a short blessing ceremony of our parish statue of Our Lady of Fatima, followed by a candlelight procession of the congregation into the church which will be led by three of our young children who will represent the young Fatima shepherds. Following the conclusion of mass there will be the opportunity, for those who wish to remain behind to participate in praying the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary, which typically takes approximately 15 minutes. The 9.15am and 6pm Sunday masses will also feature some special additions and will also include the opportunity for parishioners to participate in the praying of the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary at the conclusion of mass.

FATIMA 2017 Next Saturday 13th May marks the centennary of Our Lady’s first appearance to the three shepherd children of Fatima that occurred back in 1917. This event is being marked in a special celebration that will take place in Fatima Square in Portugal which will be attended by Pope Francis and probably in excess of 100 000 international pilgrims. There will also be many celebrations around the world on this date and we at OLF Peakhurst plan to mark the occasion in a special way ourselves. The annual May 13th celebrations at Fatima features: • praying of the Rosary • a candlelight procession of Our Lady’s Statue • celebration of mass. To mark the historical occasion, our parish Liturgy Committee has planned our Saturday night vigil mass on 13th May to incorporate these three components.
