After a bit of time looking over the problem drums and implementing the fixes, the following fixes have been made (open photos for descriptions) (PHOTOS 1 AND 2) I have drilled a 13mm hole in behind the spring recess, then have drilled a 3mm hole in the side of the axle to allow air in and out to stop vacuum building behind the drive dog (PHOTO 3 AND 4) The second fix is a basic spring packer that adds 10mm of extra preload to the spring giving it an even more positive engagement than previously (even standard they lock in hard) The problem seems to be limited to the last batch of drums, even then not all of those. Having talked to a few people running earlier drums, they havnt had issues, and infact one was recently pulled down for a look, and even with 3 motors, the internals still look new Lastly, what wasnt done to finish stages (to my knowledge) was using the locking bolt to lock the spool to finish the stage, it would / should take less than a minute to remove the fitting and put the bolt in, but live and learn If anyone has questions or feed back, please post it up, or send me a msg.
