Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
Finally we are going to see whether the work of the Royal Commission changes how specific institutions handle child sexual abuse. In December 2016 the Royal Commission will be holding hearings on each of the below institutions, to look at how each institution has responded to the Royal Commissions's reports on their response to child sexual abuse. The Institutions named so far are those who the Commission investigated when it first began its work, in 2013 and 2014. The Commission is calling for written submissions to be submitted now. Anyone can provide a submission, so if you have been involved in or have knowledge of the institutions' response to child sexual abuse allegations since 2013 and 2014 please follow the instructions on the Royal Commission website to make your submission. The institutions are: Scouts New South Wales; YMCA New South Wales; The Salvation Army; and the Australian Christian Churches and affiliated Pentecostal churches.
