Reclaim the Run - The Bay, is happening again this year on Friday the 28th of October. All Port Stephens based female runners and walkers are invited to join us to attend the Reclaim the Run at Nelson Bay Marina at 6p.m in protest against all forms of violence towards women. Our "big sister" event is running in Newcastle on this night, so we want to operate a similar event here in the Bay area for our local women.

A warm thank you to everyone who has made generous donations to the Yacaaba Centre on behalf of our beloved and very much missed Rhonda 'Rhonnie' Fuller.
27th August 2016 Ricky Fuller posted this sad but beautiful message. Rhonda Fuller was an angel and all at Yacaaba will miss her greatly! An angel left us at 5am this morning and she now officially has her wings. We lost our beautiful mum to cancer. It happened all so quickly and she passed very peacefully right after the song " In the arms of an Angel" finished playing. She was not alone 😇 We all feel so blessed and honoured to have her as our mum and she was and still is, loved so dearly by her family and friends. Fly high my darling. I love you with all my heart and I know you will be with us always and forever. Rest at peace. 💜😇❤️😘😘😘
One-stop-shop to help reduce DV
We've had a really great response to our new proposal to introduce Domestic Violence Prevention Clinics at every women's health centre in NSW. It's an Australian-first to give women all the help they need in the one location - domestic violence casework, financial counselling and health checks - all in the same place on the same day. Hopefully the NSW Government can get behind it! For more information have a look at our media release. Here's the Herald's story and the Illawarra Mercury - more to come. http://www.smh.com.au/national/health/domestic-violence-clinics-in-health-centres-proposed-to-reach-untapped-pool-of-victims-20160811-gqq5d6.html http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/4095872/one-stop-shop-to-help-reduce-dv/
