The Rural City of Murray Bridge would like to extend our heartfelt concern and support to those affected by the Thomas Foods International facility fire in Murray Bridge. Council would like to acknowledge and thank the outstanding efforts of emergency services that responded to the incident on Wednesday and all agencies and community members now pulling together to support to those who need it. A Community Information Centre has been established at the Murray Bridge Town Hall and will remain open from 8.30am until 4pm over the weekend and from 8.30am until 5.30pm on Monday. Have you or a loved one been impacted by the abattoir fire at Murray Bridge? A Community Information Centre has been established at the Murray Bridge Town Hall, at 13-17 Bridge Street, in response to the Thomas Foods International fire. The centre will operate from 4 pm until 8 pm tonight (4 January) and then from 8am-8 pm tomorrow (5 January). Staff at the centre will assess individual needs and connect people with services they may need. Australian Red Cross and Disaster and Recovery Ministries volunteers will support the centre by providing personal support. All women aged 50 to 70 years are invited to visit for their free early screening mammogram (breast x-ray). It only takes 15 minutes and is the best way to detect breast cancer early (before symptoms start to show) giving women a greater chance of successful treatment. Imperial Netball Club is hoping to expand the run off area on one section of the club's home courts for improved player safety and comfort.
