Please be aware! Ringworm is rife in Mudgee at the moment! Ringworm is highly contagious! Human to animal, animal to human, animal to animal. To minimise risk prevent contact with other animals. Treatment is basic however still requires vet appt. Prevention is better than cure! 😀

Please take care! On Thurs/Fri & Saturday we have temperatures forecasted 40 degrees up to 43 degrees! Lets plan ahead for our loved 4 legged friends! If your animals are outside here are a few tips...place ice in their water bowl to keep the water temp low, place numerous water bowls out (not just one), have a shell pool (Big W $20) under the shade so your dog can cool off if he/she wishes to. Freeze one or more ice blocks for your dog(s) with water, a dash of chicken stock, some vegetables like carrot &/or fruit. Throw these out for your dogs before you leave for work. They will love them! If you are only going our for a short time & don't wish to leave them in the air conditioning leave some soaking wet towels on the ground for them. If you believe your dog is suffering heat stress please do the following.....throw them the shower, the pool or simply use the hose (with nozzle off after ensuring the water coming thru is cold) under their belly & on their feet...this is how dogs cool themselves! How many of us see dogs pawing water out of a water bowl so it hits their belly & they stand in it with all four feet? We all love dogs so lets keep them safe......mine have fans & a micro mister (from Bunnings) to keep them cool during my absence. I have also purchased some electrolytes from Roths Produce (under $27) to keep mine hydrated with temps over 38 degrees. I have many dogs so maybe some of you could purchase & share this product with others during this extreme weather. Thanks for reading! Stay safe!

My total apologies for anyone trying to contact me via FB. For some reason I cannot open messages on this page or others that I run! Due to the heat wave we are experiencing....I am simply just turning up at homes that have texted me.......unannounced. Reason being some clients have driveways with no shade, some offer shade! I have to pick & choose that suit the temp at the time. Those that do not have shade where I park on their driveway or bitumen road are ones that I cannot service unless its early in the morning. It is apprx 4-5 degrees hotter in the trailer if there is no shade or cool wind. There have been 4 dogs die in Gulgong of heat stress! Please just keep in mind the dogs I visit & those that are trying to book in are the dogs that come out of air-conditioning into my trailer with just fans operating. Some dogs just don't cope....especially those with short muzzles. I am trying to keep any dog that enters my trailer safe! Your dogs welfare is of my upmost concern. If its not safe I will not come. I apologise for that. TIA.

Dear Clients....due to the consistent hot weather I am only able to work up to apprx 1pm. The reason is it becomes way too hot for the dog & the blades I use become too hot to use as they do not cool off. I have apprx 4 -5 blades on the go yet they still stay hot which means I could possible burn your dog (like a shaving burn) clipping him/her causing either a rash or burn. I am trying to fit everyone in but really need to commence work at 6 -7am to get dogs done. Dogs that just require bathing will be booked in from 12 midday till 1pm as the dyer too gets hot depending on the temp at the time. I would love to work longer hrs however I choose to finish early to protect your dog(s) from both the heat & from possible rashes that could possibly cause you concern. Thnx in advance for your understanding...
