Cymbidium Orchid Society of Victoria
Description
COSV meets 2nd Tuesday of each month (except January) at Mt Waverley Community Centre, Youth Centre Hall,Miller Crescent, Mount Waverley at 8pm. The COSV Facebook page is to help people learn more about cymbidium orchids, how to get in touch with the society and about the various activities including monthly meetings where members are encouraged to bring along their flowering cymbidiums.
A beginners class is held at 7.15pm before each meeting, also involving periodic visits to cymbidium nurseries.
COSV has an annual show held in September. This year's show 2014 is at - The Hungarian Community Centre, 760 Boronia Rd. Wantirna (Vic) on September 13-14. Entry $5, concession $3.

Early flowering cymbidiums which can begin flowering as early as February. Of course the main flowering time is around August but there are some earlier varieties. This one is Mini Verde 'Superior' shown at the March meeting.

Now for something a little different
Peloric cymbidiums. These are sepal pelorics where the bottom "petals" have somehow generated the same markings as the labellum. These are classified in the Novelty section.
