Symbiosis International
Description
Symbiosis International is helping transform the lives of Bangladesh's poorest people through education, health and economic development. With over 160 million people, Bangladesh is not only the most densely populated nation in the world, but also one of the poorest and least developed. Symbiosis brings empowerment and lifts living standards for the most marginalised and impoverished people in Bangladesh - women, landless rural farmers and those who cannot read and write.
Our goal is sustainable change driven by transformation from within - the kind of change which is long lasting, holistic and does not create dependency.
Over the last two decades, Symbiosis has worked with tens of thousands of Bangladeshis to learn to read, write, save, and improve their lives by running small businesses. Also offering education on vocational skills, health, nutrition and human rights, and complemented by water, midwifery and eye care programs, Symbiosis seeks to give power back to those who were powerless.
