Melville Cares.
Description
Melville Cares Inc is a community based not for profit organisation founded on a core of volunteers.
From a small group of dedicated volunteers in 1984, Melville Cares has grown since incorporation in 1986, into an organisation employing 85 staff engaged in providing administrative or direct care services. The 160 volunteers from the local community remain the backbone of the organisation. We are proud to provide support services to about 2000 community members.
Supporting you to lead a healthy and independent life is our goal. We assist our elders, young people with disabilities and carers to lead an active life as part of the community.
Call the Central Regional Assessment Service (RAS) Centre on 1300 785 415 to find out whether you can benefit from our services. Or contact us on 9319 0900 for our support in the process.

As a Veterans’ Home Care Coordinator I meet and chat with many Veterans. I have rarely met a Veteran who was as enthusiastic about a program as this. The good news is, this gentleman attends the program locally and was keen to encourage others to attend so the social, emotional and physical benefits of the program can be experienced by many of his fellow veterans. Contact details are available below from the extract taken from the “Battling On” publication For further information feel free to ring VHC Coordinator at Melville Cares on 9319 0900

Thomas Maher has been with Melville Cares for several years. Recently he mentioned to his Support Worker that he was struggling with fruit flies on his apricot trees. A natural remedy was looked up on the internet and the result was a success. Thomas picked a bumper crop of apricots and made jam for his friends for Christmas!

Meet Joan Simpson! Joan has been a client of Melville Cares for many years and we couldn't think of a better person to represent us as part of our new administration banner. Joan recently dropped in to visit and, after getting over the initial shock of seeing her "larger than life" photo, was very proud to be our new face of Melville Cares. Thank you Joan. Your bright smile reflects so many of our clients and we love having you as part of our office each day.
