St Helens State School consists of a number of supportive classes ranging from the preparatory years through to grade seven.

I am immensely proud and honoured to have worked with each of our fantastic students, parents and staff. I also wanted to take the time to announce the fact that Mark Jones has been offered and accepted the acting assistant Regional Director role for the first five weeks of term 1 in 2017. This is a wonderful opportunity for Mark and on behalf of the school community I would like to congratulate him on his appointment. I have agreed to continue to act as Principal of St Helens State School for the first five weeks, whilst Mark Jones undertakes his new role. I look forward to continuing the exciting journey with each and every one of you. Clinton Hansen will continue to act as Head of Curriculum during this time also. We have a very experienced teacher, Shane Sanderson taking the year 4/5 class for the first five weeks of term one. Kind regards Mark Cross

End of Year Concert The concert starts at 6:30pm with gold coin entry. Students are to arrive no earlier than 6pm to the back door of the Theatre. The door will not be opened until that time. All students will be seated in the Federation Room for the entire performance with a live video feed. The designated time to collect younger students if you wish to leave will be at the interval. You may collect your child from the Federation Room and we ask that you do not return to the theatre with your child. We are unable to give exact times as the performance durations can vary. Also please be aware that we are planning on recording this year’s concert. If you have any issue with your child being recorded let the office staff know as soon as possible.
DENTAL FORMS Could all dental forms please be returned to the office ASAP. Forms will now be distributed to our Prep, Year 2 & 3 students over the next couple of days. These need to be returned prior to the end of the year. Thanks
Volunteer Morning Tea We have been very fortunate to have so many parents who have assisted in the school throughout the year. This assistance comes in many different forms and is greatly appreciated by the staff and students. We will be hosting a volunteer morning tea (in the hall) next Wednesday 30th November from 9am as a way of saying thank you to all of our volunteers. If you have been a volunteer at our school in 2016 we would love to see you next Wednesday and thank you for the contribution that you have made.
