facebook.comYesterday's canteen fundraiser was fabulous. 😀 It was flat out from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with no breaks! We would like to say a special thank you to Don who manned the BBQ all day and to Trish Rosa and Brooke Large who stayed all day in the canteen and was a fantastic help! Finally, a massive thank you and shout out to our wonderful committee members who gave up their time to make it happen - The Deegan's, Cheryl and those who came to help set up and pack up. Good things don't just happen, people make them happen. Well Done!
Kiama High School's annual Athletics Carnival is scheduled for Thursday 25th of May at Kiama Sports Complex. Kiama Little Athletics is running a Canteen at this Carnival. This is the major fundraiser for the Centre every season. We are currently looking for volunteers to man the Canteen on the day (10:00 am - 2:00 pm). We are also looking for volunteers to help set up and pack up our equipment (8:00 am or around 2:00 pm) If you can spare some time to assist in the Canteen or with the equipment please let us know by replying to this message. Any help we can get would be greatly appreciated even if it's only for an hour or so.
Ha! Some days I feel like this.🤣

The 38th Kiama Little Athletics AGM was held on Wednesday 5th April. All positions were successfully filled. The highlight of the evening was the appointment of Sarah Cook and Tim Cleal as Life Members of Kiama Little Athletics Centre! A huge thank you to those people who have volunteered their time to assist with the running of the Centre.
Kiama Little Athletics’ 2016-2017 season came to a conclusion on Friday, March 31 with the annual presentation at Kiama Leisure Centre. The Centre’s highest accolade is the Dean Blair Memorial Trophy which is presented to the athlete who attains the highest level of improvement throughout the season. This year’s winner was Under 12 athlete Lachlan Poole. In second place was Angus Young (Under 6) and in third place was William Young (Under 9). Dean Blair was a member of Kiama Little Athletics Centre in the 1980 season, joining at the age of nine. In just three months Dean broke 15 records, a testimony to his natural ability. Tragically Dean died in December 1980 as a result of a playground accident at school. The perpetual trophy was struck in Dean’s memory. Under 13 athlete Georgia Richards was the recipient of the Coaches Most Improved Award.
Kiama Little Athletics Annual General Meeting will be held THIS Wednesday 5th April at Kiama Leagues Club commencing at 7:00pm. I urge you to take an active interest in the Centre and attend. At a minimum we are looking for several General Committee positions to be filled. We need new faces to continue the good work carried out by previous Committees. Please give serious consideration to volunteering some of your time to keep this Centre “running”.
Don’t forget that our annual Presentation Day will be held from 5:00pm THIS Friday, 31st March at Kiama Leisure Centre. A reminder that athletes must have attended a minimum of 50% of competition mornings and/or evenings from their date of registration to be eligible for end of season awards. “Orientation Days” are included in this calculation.

We would like to take this opportunity to ask you to attend our AGM and consider becoming a member of our Committee for the 2017-2018 season. The Centre needs new Committee members to ensure it remains viable and to ultimately guarantee Little Athletics will continue in Kiama come September. The AGM commences at 7:00pm on Wednesday 5th April at Kiama Leagues Club. Please come and join us.
Congratulations to the eight (8) athletes who represented the Centre with distinction at the State Track and Field Championships on the weekend. There were some personal best times, heights and distances set, but just reaching this level of competition was a great achievement. Well Done! We are proud of you :)
Sorry everyone - all council grounds are closed and tonight's meet has been cancelled. We are most disappointed that we couldn't have our final club night. See you all at presentation night - Friday, March 31st. Kiama Leisure Centre 5:00 pm start.
The weather has certainly been against us lately! We will assess the situation this afternoon and let you all know. Hopefully we can run for the last night.
