Marian Catholic College is a caring community with a family atmosphere linking parents, students, staff and pastors. Marian Catholic College opened in 1988 on the Kenthurst site with an enrolment of 53 Year 7 students. It is a co-educational, comprehensive Catholic secondary school in the Diocese of Parramatta, catering for students from Years 7 to 12. Currently there are 1065 students enrolled in the school.

The College was set up to provide a Catholic secondary education for children of families from the parishes of Arcadia, Kellyville and Kenthurst. Its origins reflect a large degree of parish community involvement in the years prior to 1988.

The school motto "Walk with Christ", chosen after widespread discussion with students and staff, represents our journey through school and life – a journey we all walk with Christ.

The school was named Marian Catholic College because it was founded in 1988 which was proclaimed a Marian Year of the Church. Thus the school adopted Mary as its patron. Mary is seen as our model in our human attempt to live the values of Christ.

Marian Catholic College is a faith-based community founded on the love of God, the values of Christ and a devotion to Mary, the first disciple, who teaches us how to walk each day with Christ.

The College is committed to fostering partnership between parents, students, staff and pastors to support all members as learners. Underpinning this commitment is an acceptance of each person as an individual with unique characteristics and needs. Each individual is, however, constantly challenged to strive for personal excellence in all areas of college life: ministry, learning, sport and the arts. This challenge seeks to build personal capacity while recognising the responsibility to use that capacity to contribute positively to both our community and society. It is through this contribution that we develop a sense of purpose, value and a positive self-image. Our focus, intrinsic to our Church’s mission, at times, is counter-cultural to what is happening in the world around us. This fosters optimism, courage, resilience and the confidence to speak out for those who have no voice.

Marian is a community, proud of its tradition created by present and past members, on whose shoulders our future, bright with hope and innovation, will continue to carry Christ’s light to the world.

Who had fun on Picnic Day? While the rain certainly dampened the day, we didn't let it dampen our spirit! There were plenty of smiles throughout the school today, and much excitement for the fantastic team from Outback Steakhouse Australia who came and provided lunch (steak and chicken sandwiches), plus the gorgeous people from Hunter Ice Cream (www.huntericecream.com.au) who brought their van over on this rainy day. We had slushies, video games, movies, social justice activities - there were plenty of events keeping us occupied throughout the day.

A big congratulations to all of our award recipients at tonight's Presentation Evening. It was wonderful to be able to give physical recognition to such hard work and dedication displayed by our students throughout the course of the school year. A thank you must go to the teachers who stayed back to acknowledge these students and especially to the staff who worked behind the scenes to help this evening come into fruition. Thank you also to the parents, family and friends who came along to support our community, and those who were able to stay until the end - your time was greatly appreciated. If you were unable to make it to the event tonight and were supposed to receive an award, the trophies and certificates will be available to pick up from the Student Foyer tomorrow (Tuesday) from recess. If you have gone on holidays and/or are away for the rest of the year, they will also be available at the beginning of Term 1, 2017. If there was an error at all with your award, please direct any queries to Miss Ward at the administration building or email her at mariannews@parra.catholic.edu.au. To those who gave to Fr Chris Riley's Youth off the Streets tonight - we are so thankful for your generosity.
