DIFF RELOCATION BRACKETS v’s DIFF DROP SPACERS What is the difference you may ask? Basically, one does what it should, whilst the other promises to but doesn’t. The “SPACER” style kits, do just that – they space the front two diff mounts 1” further down, and rotating the front diff housing forwards because the rear mount is not touched at all. Because of this, and because of the location of your CV shaft in relation to the distance between the fixed rear mount and the dropped front mount - you will barely get half an inch reprieve in CV shaft angle due to this “cantilever effect”. The “DIFF RELOCATION BRACKET” style kits are by far the only option when chasing CV angle reprieve. They replace the 3 x Factory Diff mounts (which are prone to bending under some condition off-road in low range) with stronger alternatives, that utilising heavy duty bushes and also a replacement rear mount that helps drop the complete front diff housing between 30 to 35mm. In recent times the general design has changed again to include a "braced" mount for the drivers side that ties the diff between both front and rear crossmembers, increasing the torsional rigidity of the entire setup. Detailed below are a couple of options that we can sell/provide you to help you setup your Hilux to maintain its reliability and strength in all conditions. — Products shown: Phat Bars Brace Diff Relocation Brackets and KSP/MR Diff Relocation Brackets.
