What a way to celebrate International Women's Day! School Captain Lily Kenway won the Leadership Award at the International Women’s Day Youth Leadership Breakfast held at Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club this morning. This is the biggest award given on the day - Lily gave an impromptu speech upon receipt of the award and was also interviewed by Channel 9. Year 12 student Leah Davidson also took out the Sports Leadership Award. And Year 12 students Stefanie Allocca and Maddie Stephens each also received first runner up in their categories of Social Justice and Performing Arts respectively. Penelope Lovett, who was nominated in the category of Community Service, is also participating in the Lions Youth of the Year Award and has made it to the Regional Round of that competition. Congratulations girls! We wish all the wonderful women and girls in our All Saints community a very happy International Women's Day.

This week, four All Saints students and three past students are competing for selection into the 2018 Commonwealth Games Swim Team. We wish Taylor Timpani (Year 10), Tom Hauck (Year 10), Brooke Napper (Year 11), Eve Lutze (Year 12), Kyle Kiehne (Class of 2017), Jasper Dejager (Class of 2016) and Daniel Smith (Class of 2008) the best of luck over the next couple of days. We'll be streaming the action live on the big screen in the media hub of the Middle/Senior Library. Or you can tune into the livestream via the Swimming Australia website to cheer them on!

Congratulations to Class of 2017 student, Liam Harris on receiving a Distinguished Academic Achiever award by Education Minister Grace Grace. Liam was one of 28 students in Queensland to receive this prestigious annual award for graduating Year 12 students. This and more in the latest Saints Alive!

Creative Generations Excellence in the Visual Art Award is an annual Queensland-wide award issued to Year 12 students. All Saints has once again received one of these prestigious awards. Kavin Wu’s work 'Sinking' will be exhibited in GOMA next year, alongside 30 other winners. These works are chosen from over 500 student works entered from every high school in Queensland. Congratulations Kavin!
