A reminder for our littlest of participants Since parkrun started in 2004 we have welcomed children to participate, as volunteers or runners, at all of our events. It’s important to note however that the ultimate responsibility for their welfare remains with their parents or guardians. At our events, children under the age of 11 must be within arm's reach of a parent, guardian or designated adult of the parents' choice at all times. We want children to have an overwhelmingly positive experience at parkrun; participating because they want to, in a way they want to; and in a safe environment at all times.
