Hat Day - Somerton Park Hat Day
Our club is celebrating Hat Day at our weekly meeting of 4th October 2016 to raise money and awareness for mental health research. It’s a fun and positive way we can all get involved and show our support for people affected by depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, anorexia and many more serious mental illness conditions. We’ll be raising funds for PhD Scholarships and Research Grants focused on finding preventions, treatments and cures for a broad range of mental health conditions. Current studies include identifying and addressing anxiety in toddlers, a school-based positive thinking program, trials of a suicide prevention campaign for young people, and a mobile phone-based intervention for improving mental wellbeing in young adults with diabetes. You can donate online via our Hat Day event page at www.hatday.com.au/Event?id=1262 We’re proud to say that every cent of your Hat Day donation goes to funding high quality mental health research projects around the country through Australian Rotary Health.
