Geelong Fish Taxidermy
Description
Award Winning Fish Taxidermist, specialising in high quality fish mounts. 12 years experience having produced work for every state in Australia. I am in my 12th year in the Taxidermy industry and have done work for every state in Australia as well as doing work for the VIC & NSW government departments.
I am widely known as a person who produces very high quality work, putting quality before high turnover of work. I treat it like a hobby, not a job.
I have won a major prize of Best of Category Open Class in the prestigious NZTA competitions in New Zealand. My work was judged by world renowned fish taxidermist and judge Richard Abrahams. I also won 1st prize in the Professional Division.
To the best of my knowledge, I was the 1st Australian Fish Taxidermist to win at an international event.
My current goal is to compete at the World Taxidermy Titles in America in 2015.
Even after many years, I am still enthusiastic and always strive to improve. I am a believer that when you cease trying to better yourself, you become stagnant and your work starts to go backwards.
I maintain an old fashioned work ethic, treating your fish as if it were my own. If I wouldn't hang it on my own wall, I wouldn't let it leave my shop.
My reward comes when people's eyes light up when they come to collect their fish and express their delight with my work.
The buzz of satisfaction I get from this is the best feeling I know.
On a personal note, I am also a keen sports fisherman having fished throughout Australia and New Zealand and once worked as a fly fishing guide.

Big 70 pound Cod awaiting pick up by its owner. This is of course a reproduction as it's illegal to take a fish of this size. So all you people who have caught and released a good Cod this season, or anytime for that matter, can get a fish made up similar to this from one of my large collection of Cod moulds. Note: pink isn't as strong as it appears in the photo.
