Bathers Beach Arts Precinct Xmas Market days

The Bathers Beach Art Precinct in Fremantle is having a Christmas Market on Saturday December the 10th and Sunday the 11th from 10am - 5pm. The Ann Land Studio and Gallery will be open during these extended times. Ann's artwork will be on display, including Prints and Paintings that are for sale.

Regarding Ann Land's etchings and aquatint prints: The prints are created by an ' open bite ' acid technique. This was developed by Rembrandt (1606 - 1669), and used by Printmakers ever since. It is often referred to as "Intaglio Print". The methods used includes aquatint, dry point and acid etching on zinc plate. Wiping the plate is a critical process after applying ink so the ink remains only in the crevices before rolling it through the press. The Ink used is, Encre Taille Douce Charbonnel ( produced in France). The paper, Canson Velin d'Arches Blanc. The prints produced by Ann Land are limited to editions of just ten (10). Each is unframed with matte board and is priced at $300. (As the print making process has recently been discontinued by Ann (due to the unavailability of a specific acid), the prints are becoming increasingly scarce with only a limited number remaining for sale).
