In addition to this page, a website which contains a database of research projects, students and clinicians' profiles has been developed and can be accessed at www.theresearchnetwork.com.au. This research network provides students with an opportunities to access research projects that are posted by clinicians who are looking for students' extra pairs of hands. We strongly encourage students and clinicians to sign up.
Research opportunities within and outside of the medical school of medicine Fremantle will also be posted to this page and our website. Students who are interested in any particular project are encouraged to read the student research guidelines available on our website before contacting the researcher/clinician.

Next Wednesday, the 4th of May, the School of Medicine is holding the next in its Research Seminar Series. Previous seminars have been excellently attended and we are hoping for another great crowd. Our upcoming seminar flyer is attached and will include Drs Andrew Jan and Kevin Chung speaking about their PhD and Masters research respectively. Both speakers are current School of medicine Higher Degree by Research students and the seminar is a great opportunity for people to hear a little more about what research is happening in the school, learn about the kinds of degrees that are on offer, and generally to meet some of the School’s research leaders, supervisors and students. The seminar will be held on the UNDA campus, from 6pm to 7pm (followed by drinks and nibbles) in ND46/302.
Publication opportunity with St John of God Pathology: Associate professor Louise Smyth has negotiated with Dr Glen Edwards, Consultant Chemical Pathology at SJOG Pathology, to take a medical student having a keen interest in Pathology to work with them on one of their current projects. The work will involve mapping of results against patients characteristics and analysis of data. It's possible that there will be an opportunity for the student to present the paper at "Immunology Day" (25th June). If you're interested or you would like further information, please contact Ass. Prof Louise Smyth via email louise.smyth@nd.edu.au or telephone 94330948.
