The team at BSMC are pleased to announce that our hydrotherapy classes are back up and running! Hydrotherapy is a water based therapy, which uses the effects of warm water to help with activity. It is appropriate for all age groups and the warm environment helps to improve circulation, reduce pain and muscle spasm. Hydrotherapy can be used in conjunction with other forms of treatment, or as a sole form of therapy. Classes are held at the Portarlington Pool on a Monday and Friday at 11am. Functional Movement Group
Monday Night Injury Clinic. Bellarine Sports Medicine Centre is proud to be able to offer a Monday Night Injury Clinic to Bellarine sportspeople, with all funds raised supporting local charities. Get on top of your weekend injuries by being assessed by one of our experienced physiotherapists. Your session will include an assessment, preliminary diagnosis and management plan provided to yourself and your coach. Referrals to existing practitioners and investigative imaging will also be provided as required. A tax-deductible donation of $10 can be made on the night of your appointment. Functional Movement Group
We love learning! Over the weekend Bellarine Sports Medicine was fortunate enough to host the Functional Movement Group, who came to our clinic to present their Movement Assessment Tool (M.A.T). A big thank you to Andrew and Stephen for a great and insightful session, we are looking forward to implementing the M.A.T here at BSMC. It was also fantastic to host other health professionals from the region who joined us in utilising this method of objectively assessing a body's ability to undertake functional movement - this allows us to further understand why injuries might occur, and when our clients are ready to return to their favourite activities.
