Plan Bee Honey
Description
Local Raw Honey from honey bees in the Diamond Creek neighbourhood. Bees are a vital link in our food chain, a nice by-product of keeping bees is the regular supply delicious honey. Therefore, Nat and Ben have decided to start to keep bees in early 2014. We started with only one hive but soon expanded to a second one in case one of the two hives becomes sick or needs a little help from the stronger hive. The initial lot of bees came from a friend and the queen was ordered online. The second hive was established by splitting the first hive once it was strong enough and the bees produced their own queen to rule the 2nd hive. Depending on the circumstances, 1 hive can produce in the order of 50kg of honey each year and hence we decided to give our neighborhood the opportunity to get their hands on local, fresh and raw honey through our honesty box.
