A cool, rainy Spring - but so beautiful!
Thrilled to meet descendants of the Shumack / Bell family today, who originally selected this farm in 1879, and showing them around Bell's Cottage, as well as places and things on the farm they asked about, such as the old well, etc. Wonderful! They're here in Canberra for a couple of days :)
Our beautiful cottages are themselves having a holiday! We're going through the approval process as we've signed a brand new lease (in the ACT, your asset is called a 'lease' whether you own it or rent it... I believe that at confederation, in 1913, some bright spark decided to copy the 'lease' system in the City of London. Wish they'd stayed home that day, lol!). Anyway - it shouldn't be long until I can once again accept bookings - stay tuned!
