A big thank you to our friends at SEA LIFE Sydney & SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast. Last week we welcomed some beautiful new creatures from Sydney Aquarium into Cairns Aquarium. Travelling by road, the truck stopped off at Mooloolaba and then continued en route to Cairns. On board for the journey were staff members from the SEA LIFE Curatorial team who kept a close eye on the animals during their road trip. The animals arrived safely and have settled into the animal introduction tanks back of house, where they will remain for approximately four weeks before being released into our Oceanarium. Thank you to everyone involved for making this happen!
Creature Feature. Don't let the "clown" name fool you! Clownfish can be aggressive and territorial. So where do they get their name from? Their bright orange coloring and white stripes, but also from the bouncy way they swim.
