Indoor Beach Dodgeball Tourney

5-a-side Mixed Competition (min of 2 of each gender) 16 teams -> 1 Champion $125.00 Team Registration - Includes Insurance REGISTER YOUR TEAM AT: http://dodgeball.citysidesports.com Rules - Each team will consist of up to 5 players on court for each 'set'. - There must be 2 females and 2 males on court at all times. - Each 'set' shall start with 4 balls lined up in the middle of the court. - Players shall line up at their end of the court, behind the back line. - On the Referees signal, "GO", players may run to the middle of the court to retrieve a ball. - On the Referees signal, "DODGE", players may commence throwing their ball. This shall occur 5 seconds after "GO". - PLAYER ELIMINATION: A player is eliminated from a 'set' when: * They throw a ball that is caught by the other team. * They are hit below the shoulder by a ball (unless it is caught by a team mate before hitting the ground). * They throw a ball that hits a player above shoulder height on the full. * They cross the centre line or their back line once play has commenced. * They fall into the court surrounding net (see net rule below). * They kick a ball. Once a player is eliminated they must return to behind their team's back line. - BLOCK: A player may use a ball they are holding to block a ball thrown at them, however if the ball rebounds onto another player on the same team, the team mate is out. - NET: The courts are surrounded by nets. These are the net rules: * Players may throw the ball into the net and a player can be eliminated from being hit by a ball rebounding from a net. * Players may catch the ball off the net, and the thrower will be eliminated. * Players must not step on, dive into, fall into or push off the net. The Referee is looking for an indent in the net. - GENUINE ATTEMPT: Failure to make a genuine attempt to play a ball (eg. holding onto balls to delay play) will result in the Referee calling 'DELAY' and the penalised team must roll all their balls to the opposing side of the court. - A match will last for 13-minutes and contain as many 'sets' as can be included. (NOTE: Teams will play between 6 to 9 matches depending how far they make it in the tournament) - A set concludes when one team has 5 players eliminated OR 4-minutes has elapsed (max set time), and a team is awarded 1 point per set won (least amount of players eliminated). - A 30-second period between sets will be allocated for the court to be set back up to start a new set and team substitutions. - If match time ends mid-set, the team with less players eliminated will have won the set.

Important Notice For: Team Captains (non-SFindit teams) - please feel free to tag your Captains. TIME PREFERENCES: Registration is now open for Spring 2017. There is a growing trend for teams to register with a certain time preference and then once fixtures are drawn up, contacting us to say 'but we selected a different time preference', perhaps thinking they meant to but didn't. Time preferences are capped depending on the venue, based on first in, first served - and once the preferences are capped, that preference cannot be changed. CitySide Sports has always been committed to doing our absolute best to ensure a fair fixture for everyone. We don't just use generated programs and a lot of manual work goes in to it. Mathematically a season can't be perfect, but we look over not just the current season but a past season to average out the times teams get. This is why sometimes they can take a little longer to put up. So please understand when we say, you cannot change your time preference once the season has commenced, even if still in grading rounds. If you need that certain time preference, then please - register early! Thank you.

We pay well, we look after our Refs and Umpires and we are after people who love what they do, take pride in their work and are punctual. Our company provides avenues for referees to advance to trainers and supervisors. We have venues in Brunswick and Reservoir, with more venues in the East and West of Melbourne opening soon. This job would suit those who want a second job for extra cash. We allow our staff to have flexible availability, putting your requests in every Thursday for the following week. We operate Sunday to Thursday.
