In 2011 we started recycling as the then Labor govt brought in a commercial-only waste levy to promote recycling and to stop the southerners bringing their rubbish to QLD. Liberals gained government not long after and removed the levy which forced us to close the recycling arm of our business. (remember the Saturday shop anyone?) The thing is - recycling cost money. People are employed, undercover space is required, equipment is needed. And when people ring me for a skip bin they never ask "whats happening to my rubbish" they ALWAYS ask "How much will this cost me?" and that's the bottom line with recycling. Somebody needs to wear the cost - either indirectly via taxes or directly as we dispose of the waste. Read our story here - http://www.therubbishremovers.com.au/about-us/
