CURTAINS
The Australian premiere of much-loved musical, Curtains – Kander & Ebb’s musical-comedy whodunnit – showcases a parody of backstage murder mystery plots set in 1959 Boston. This is the first show for Melbourne’s own The Production Company 2016 season. Running in Melbourne until Sunday, August 28, at the Art Centre Melbourne State Theatre. Grab your tickets here. Nederlands Dans Theater
Since its inception half a century ago, the Nederlands Dans Theater is recognised as the most innovative dance company, featuring 26 dancers from all over the world. Its Australian exclusives includes three distinctive works – Sehnsucht (Sol León / Paul Lightfoot, 2009), Solo Echo (Crystal Pite, 2012) and Stop-Motion (Sol León / Paul Lightfoot, 2014). Circus Oz ‘TwentySixteen’
Circus Oz’s TwentySixteen is an irresistible infusion of new and old, innovation and tradition. The super-charged acrobats bring amazing new skill and wizardry to the flying trapeze, the Chinese pole and unicycle adagio, along with a new group-juggling act featuring 21 clubs weaving from acrobat to acrobat. The Sound of Music
After a sold-out season in Sydney and Brisbane, Melbourne is alive with the Sound of Music. The legendary Rodgers and Hammerstein musical premiered on Broadway in 1959 and won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. This acclaimed production premiered in 2006 at the London Palladium, where it celebrated a record-breaking 954 performances.
