Melbourne U-NITE Cup An annual tournament proudly organised by the Melbourne Chinese Soccer Association (MCSA) with event partner Melbourne Victory. If you couldn't make it to the semi finals this Sunday morning (18th December) at the State Football Centre, you have missed 2 exciting and nail biting semi finals. In a titanic struggle, South Sudan took the lead on 3 occasions only to see an experienced Australia A outfit holding its nerve, coming from behind to win 5:3. After drawing "First Blood", Japan went down to Timor Leste on penalty shoot out (1:1 and 3:4) in their semi final. Japan suffered the same fate in the 2015 final when Timor Leste beat them on penalty shoot out. And some say that "History never repeats"! We thank South Sudan and Japan for their contribution to the tournament this year and look forward to their participation in 2017. Timor Leste and Australia A will head to the Etihad Stadium on Australia Day for the all important decider. We invite Melbourne's diverse multicultural community to join us on Australia Day where we embrace and celebrate cultural diversity. In addition, witness this exciting final before Melbourne Victory takes on Sydney FC in Victory's U-NITE fixture. Acknowledgment: Photographer - Tony Chang Please LIKE our Facebook page. Thanks.
