The area that was under administration prior to its 2016 merger is located about west of the Sydney central business district. The area's population is culturally diverse.Major attractions and features in the area include the Gallipoli Mosque, located in the suburb of Auburn. The Mosque is modelled upon the great mosques of Istanbul.
