I'm advertising this piano for a lady in Fulham Gardens. Originally paid $3000 and selling for $400. It would be perfect for a student wanting to upgrade from a keyboard to a piano. It will need a tune. Contact Renee ph. 0410 600 016.

Tarantelle and Low C Boogie played by student James
Although James & family are not on facebook they were happy for me to give you an update of James playing piano. He's started with me when he was 8 and has worked through lots exams to this date but he's just playing for leisure now. He made this video to be played on the overhead projector at our concert last year as he was away on holiday at the time. Feel free to give comments :)

I love days like today. Here is some inspiration for those who think they may be too old to learn, or think they have no time to practice! I've always believed you are only as old as you feel and welcome anybody who is keen. With permission the lady in the photo is called Jill. I taught her back when I worked through Blackwood Music School. She was so dedicated finding 1 hour every day to practice despite working full time. She went up to Grade.6 passing with credits. She took a break from lessons after that achievement. I recently got a phone call back from her after all these years wanting to re-start her lessons with the goal to do Grade.7 this year! Grade.7 is challenging so am so pleased she has the drive to do this achievement with no suggestion from me. Jill is now retired and a grandma of 8. I love the fact she has the ambition to keep growing in her music
Should You Let Your Kids Quit Taking Piano Lessons?
I remember my teacher saying when I was learning piano 'You'll thank me one day' as this article also mentions. She was both an encourager but also tough which I appreciated as she was fair in her approach. In my case this statement was true and I use her wisdom on my own students. For some people goals are unattainable and disengaging from them CAN be the healthiest choice but not always. Staying and quitting can be both hard choices. All students experience the challenges not only the joys of learning but the rewards are far greater in the end if approached in the best way. Feel free to ask questions :) http://segullah.org/slice-of-life/should-you-let-your-kids-quit-taking-piano-lessons/
