Geniale Unterkunft - super Gastfreundschaft Left on Jul 15, 2017 for a stay in Jun 2017 We (Family with 2 Teens) booked 'The Retreat' for our 1st stop over on our tour through Sri Lanka. We really enjoyed our stay at 'The Retreat' and we would like to highly reccomend that place if you searching for a place like we did! The Retreat is close to Hikka (10-15 min by TukTuk) - but 'in the middle of nowhere'. So if you (as we did) are not looking for the 'big party zone' behind your Hotel and if that's fine for you that you take the TukTuk to go 'down town' - "The Retreat" is the best value you can get from our opinion! We enjoyed walking arround the neigbourhood - where farmers plant cinnamon, rice, bananans and other stuff. We enjoyed laying at the pool and watching the birds, lizzards and monkeys in the Retreats garden and all of them was topped by the kindness and hospiteality of Preme and Sunita who really made our stay with ther support a 1st class stay. We made day trips to Hikka, Galle and the 'Dschungle Beach' close to Galle. So going to Galle by train is easy & einjoyable as well! If we'll ever come back to Sri Lanka we would definietly like to stay at this place again!
