I'm a student at McMaster University with experience proofreading and editing a variety of documents.  I love copy-editing. It's what I do as a hobby. There's something about working with other people's writing that satisfies me immensely, and the people who've commissioned my work are immensely satisfied too. When I edit something, I don't stop until it sounds great. I've spent more time working on my friends' resumes, research papers, and presentations than I have on my own. And I don't regret it. As someone who lives with engineers, I'm used to working with people who can't explain their ideas in an easy-to-follow way. They're brilliant people, but when they try to get a point across, it doesn't always come out right. When that happens, it's my job to re-order their explanations, re-phrase their thoughts, and re-package their ideas until they sound as intelligent as they really are. From philosophy and psychology to robotics and mechatronics, I've helped write documents for a variety of complicated subjects, and I always do so with skill and professionalism.

I also enjoy technical writing. I've written supplementary learning material for one of my classes, and I've also co-written a beginner's handbook on robotics. I'm familiar with many types of business documents - briefing notes, backgrounders, etc. - and I can put together a press kit too. I have practical skills and experience to back them up.

Pricing is determined by word count, turnaround time, and the service provided.

I can perform three services: proofreading, basic editing, and full editing.

For PROOFREADING:

When I proofread a document, I only check for spelling and grammar mistakes.

A 72 hour turnaround costs $3.00 per 500 words.

A 48 hour turnaround costs $4.00 per 500 words.

A 24 hour turnaround costs $6.00 per 500 words.

For BASIC EDITING:

If you ask for basic editing, I will improve the stylistic quality of your document in addition to checking for spelling and grammar mistakes.

A 72 hour turnaround costs $8.50 per 1000 words.

A 48 hour turnaround costs $11.00 per 1000 words.

A 24 hour turnaround costs $13.50 per 1000 words.

For FULL EDITING:

If you ask for full editing, I will re-arrange sentences and paragraphs to make your ideas flow better. I will also perform the services associated with proofreading and basic editing.

A 72 hour turnaround costs $12.00 per 1000 words.

A 48 hour turnaround costs $15.00 per 1000 words.

A 24 hour turnaround costs $20.00 per 1000 words.

PAYMENTS AND OTHER INFO:

If you live near McMaster University and would like to make a payment in person via cash, we can arrange a meeting. Other than that, all payments should be made via PayPal. When the job is done, I'll email you an invoice along with the finished document.
