Calling all Book Nerds and Beer Snobs! Join us for our first BOOKS AND BREWS meeting on Thursday, April 5 at 7PM at the Whistle and Keg in Downtown Youngstown! This first meeting will be a very casual, introductory get together and light-hearted discussion surrounding our first book selection: The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck" by Mark Manson This is not your father's "self-help" book! The language is a bit bold, but "the profanity is actually incredibly inspiring, deeply philosophical, and extremely clever." "...He’s as painfully honest as he is outrageously funny. I find his honesty to be refreshing and fulfilling. When every other self-help book injects you with cheap, feel-good highs that last as long as your nose remains buried in the book and serves no practical purpose out in the mud and grime of your daily life, Mark’s book yanks you out of delusion and denial, points at the pit you’re stuck in and forces you to not only look at the filth and dirt covering you but also to accept it." (Huffington Post) This is a very fun, easy reader that can easily be finished within two weeks. You can find this book at any of our local libraries, on Audible ($0 with a free trial), or on Amazon starting around $8. And hey, if you come to the first meeting but haven't finished the book, we "don't give a f*ck!" We're going to have fun with this one! Of course, you can sample delicious craft beer, wine, cider, kombucha, etc. from the epic tap wall (44 ROTATING TAPS!!) before, during, and after the discussion - and food will be available for purchase, as well. Let us know if you have any questions! We look forward to meeting you all!

Local musician Jeremy Heavener is moving to California to pursue his music career, and he is having his goodbye concert right here at the Whistle & Keg. His bluegrass set is spectacular, and will be a great warm up for those of you coming out to the Justin Moore concert later that night.
