Allergist Dr. Edward Hein, MD and Kelly Mickulik PA-C are here to help with allergies (food and seasonal), asthma, hives, and eczema. A BRIEF HISTORY
This allergy practice was started in the early 1950’s by Dr. Ray Plymer, a University of Michigan trained and board certified allergist. The practice was located on Museum Road in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Edward Hein joined the practice in 1992 when Dr. Plymer retired. The name,  Berkshire Allergy & Asthma Center, was adopted at that time, and the practice relocated to Berkshire Boulevard in Wyomissing, PA. The practice incorporated in 1994. In 1999 Dr. Hein purchased a commercial building site at 2210 Ridgewood Road which is the practice’s current location. Third quarter of 2004 Dr Hein purchased additional space of 2250 square feet to accommodate practice growth and provide additional patient exam rooms, an enlarged waiting area and   additional office space.

In the interest of patient safety, efficient point of service care, patient management, and improved documentation and communication with referring physicians we implemented an electronic medical record the first quarter of 2006. With e prescribing and fax ability our patients receive medications in a safe and timely manner.

Our Practice Vision

We give thanks for 20 years of having the opportunity to provide the highest quality of care to our patients with allergies, asthma and immune problems. We are very thankful for our colleagues in medicine who faithfully entrust us with the care of their patients. We celebrate a thriving medical practice which continues to advance and grow despite a challenging climate for small medical practices.
