Saturday, April 22nd is Earth Day. Here's a couple simple ways to make a difference in Willmar: Kandiyohi County Recycling Center is offering a 5-cent bonus on aluminum cans. Shred-it, the mobile shredding service, will be at the recycling center from 10am to noon offering FREE paper shredding for up to 100 pounds of material and also hard drive destruction to area residents

Today's Severe Weather Awareness Week topic for Friday (4/21): Extreme Heat From 2000 to 2010, 35 deaths were directly attributable to extreme heat in Minnesota. Where were you? The most active tornado day of 2008 in Minnesota was July 11. There were nine tornadoes reported, the strongest of which was an E-F3 tornado just south of Willmar in Kandiohi County. https://goo.gl/KCs1sy #tbt #throwbackthursday
