The world-renowned Purdue Varsity Glee Club will welcome students back to campus at the annual “First Nighter” concert on Friday, Aug. 25, at 7:30 pm in Elliott Hall of Music. The First Nighter Concert is a free performance and open to the public. Doors will open at 7 pm on Friday. The Glee Club is back from a spring international performance tour of Poland the Baltic states. Welcome them back to Purdue University for their concert under the direction of William Griffel.
Purdue received more than 4,000 computer science undergraduate applications for fall semester 2017. Applications have increased so much that the admission rate has continued to decline even as the quality of applicants improves, said Sunil Prabhakar, head of the Department of Purdue Computer Science.
Thousands of students and faculty, and even President Daniels, gathered around campus to get their chance to see the rare solar eclipse on the very first day of classes for the fall semester.
