Whether you are looking for a place to celebrate on a Saturday afternoon, spend a guys fishing weekend, or get away for a week, Colt Island Resort is the perfect destination. Surrounded by the peacefulness of Craig's Creek and covered in the shade and splendor of nature, this quaint little island is a beautiful place to spend some time. The island is equipped with a boat dock where the Island Queen Boatel is located for your pleasure and convenience. The Queen has a full bath, sleeps 8, has a full kitchen & multiple lounge areas. It's also air conditioned for the hot summer nights. The island itself features a spacious covered shelter for entertaining on the water along with ample area on the top of the island for setting up camp, building a fire and enjoying the magnificent view. You can choose to bring a chair and a book to simply relax or pack your hiking boots to the explore the more rugged features the island has to offer. Several water spigots and multiple electric outlets are available so that you don't have to completely "rough it" when you're away from the luxuries of the houseboat. So, if a tropical island isn't in the budget this year, don't give up. You can still have your island adventure at a fraction of the cost right here in the heart of Kentucky.

Lot of interest this weekend, so here is some more info: We are located on Sandy’s Cove at Craig’s Creek, 1.4 miles west of Warsaw on US 42. Turn left on Carver’s Trail and bear right to Sandy’s Cove (122) At bottom of road is our parking area. Let us know what time you will arrive and we’ll meet you. If arriving by boat, we are at Mile Marker 530LBD. Enter Craig’s Creek under highway bridge, cruise past marina and turn to port. Island will be to your starboard. Tie up to the dock or houseboat and begin to enjoy, Colt Island Resort includes a 1+ acre island, dock and boatel. The Colt Island Queen Boatel is a 14' x50' houseboat. When reaching the island you will be drawn aboard by the spacious covered deck with a patio table and 6 chairs. Still plenty of room to spare for coolers or more chairs. Entering into the houseboat through the sliding glass door, you will find a very comfortable futon that will sleep two, a dining table and chairs along with a fully equipped kitchen. Making your way through the boat there is a linen closet; bed linens, pillows and bath sets are all included. The bathroom has a stand up shower, sink and commode. Across from the linen closet and bathroom you will find 2 full sized bunk beds. The mattresses are all new with protective zippered covers. The master bedroom at the rear of the boat includes a full sized bed, a closet, sliding glass doors and porch. You can sit out back and enjoy Mother Nature. There’s also a roof sundeck. When you venture onto the island, you will be able to enjoy a 16' x 30' covered shelter. The island, as well as the boatel are equipped with electric and running water. On the shelter you’ll find a gas grill, a multipurpose counter/ sink and plenty of room for activities or just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. There are fire pits located throughout the island for those cool evenings. There’s plenty of undeveloped wilderness to explore. Colt Island Resort is an awesome place to rent for birthday, anniversary, a little getaway or to entertain your friends and family. Paddle Board, Paddle Boat, Kayak and Pontoon Boat rentals, Smugglers Cove Marina, 859 992 7601. Smugglers also includes a full service restaurant and bar and is located directly across US42. Warsaw also has Jewell’s on Main (an excellent restaurant), and Hometown Pizza. Snappy Tomato Pizza delivers, 859-567-1177, our address is 122 Carvers Trail, and tell them you’ll meet them at the dock.
