We are supposed to get a good amount of snow today on Long Island. It's better to stay off the roads but if you have to drive, here's a tip on how to remove the snow from your car. You will need a snow shovel, a broom, (soft bristle), and an ice scraper. 1. Try to remove all snow around your car. If you are parked in a driveway, try to remove as much snow as possible. Driving on snow only packs it down. 2. IMPORTANT: Before your turn on your car, make sure the tailpipe is clear of all snow. 3. Turn on your car’s heater and defogger. This will help loosen the snow around the windshield and windows. 4. Once your car is heated, start removing snow from the roof first, working your way down to the windows & windshield and then the head & tail lights. * Make sure your whole windshield is clear. 5. Do not use hot water on your windshield to remove ice, it will only crack it. Be Safe
