Everyone is invited as Villa Park celebrates why the village was named by Money Magazine as the 8th Best Place in America to Raise a Family and the 28th Best Place in America to Live! Entertainment will include: Student music performances by school districts 45, 48, 88, the Islamic Foundation School and the Mayer Irish Dancers; a Student Art Contest; crafts; and a photo booth for the kids (and the kids at heart)! The event also will feature the best of Villa Park's food vendors, with desserts from local churches (while supplies last), and a special performance by Mick Archer's Dueling Pianos. On March 10, the annual Relay For Life of District 88 All Youth event took place at Willowbrook High School, which raised a record of more than $70,000 for the American Cancer Society. The District 88 Foundation recently hosted and participated in two annual events - the Dennis Doyle 3-on-3 Classic District 88 Foundation Basketball Tournament on March 3 and the Partnership for Inspired Education (PIE) Foundation fundraiser on March 11. On March 15, Willowbrook hosted a State send-off celebration for junior Levi Bentsen (pictured), who competed in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Three-Point Showdown. That event took place from March 15 to 17 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria.
