President Mark Heckler's address to students during yesterday's Opening Convocation is now available to read online. "Your journey starts today, in this Chapel, as you participate in a nearly 90-year-old tradition of Valpo students who have gathered together for Opening Convocations past; as you sign the more than seven-decade-old Honor Code, which embodies the University’s emphasis on academic honesty and integrity; as you pin yourself with the Shield of Character, a symbol of the University’s dedication to preparing women and men of character and wisdom who will lead and serve in church and society; and as you go forth from this place to persevere in the pursuit of your passion and purpose in this world."
