Welcome City of Valdosta Fire Department recruits! The Valdosta Fire Department, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and SGMC have partnered together to provide a comprehensive EMT course. Participants will receive clinical training at SGMC’s Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery Unit, Pediatric Care Unit and Mobile Health Care Services.

Just another day as a first responder! SGMC EMS crew members received a special visit on Friday from twins they recently helped deliver. The twins, Leilanii and Aamani Williams, were born Sept. 19 in their home.

SGMC held our annual Benefits Fair today, themed Follow the Road to Wellness! Human Resources did a wonderful job putting it together and a special shout out goes to our Wizard of Oz characters: Michael Spence, Chuck Marshburn, Jeremy Foster, Maribrook Cain, JoAnne McGehee, and Lindsey Broome! Thanks for getting everyone in the spirit!
Congrats Michaela and thank you for your most excellent patient care! "When I thought I was going to give up on fighting my cancer Michaela came to see me in the hospital and sat at my bedside. She held my hand and reminded me that I was a fighter. She tells me that I have inspired her and helped patients find joy but this nurse has helped me when I have been at my weakest.” She continued to commend her attention to detail, knowledge and willingness to go out of her way to make patients comfortable and lift their spirits.
