Description
Located on two campuses in beautiful Trinidad and Alamosa Colorado, Trinidad State was the first Community College in the State. Trinidad State is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and has been since 1962. Established in 1925, Trinidad State Junior College was the first community college in the state of Colorado. Trinidad State opens doors for students in southern Colorado to explore their future. With an enrollment of about 1,800 students on two campuses, Trinidad State offers courses in many diverse areas including Gunsmithing, Aquaculture, Cosmetology, Welding and Nursing as well as traditional Arts and Sciences classes like English, Physics and Chemistry.
TSJC is a friendly school with campuses located in Trinidad and Alamosa. The college is proud of the individual attention students can gain from faculty members who take a personal interest. Today is the 242nd Birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. In gunsmithing this morning retired Marine Colonel and Gunsmithing Student Chris Papaj distributed the cake, cut with a k-bar knife. There are five Marines in this stockmaking class alone.
Did you know we have an indoor air gun range? Well we do and it's open right now until 2. Head to the top floor of the Berg Building and shoot some targets. Guns, targets and pellets are provided free for students. If you can't make it today head over at 6 on Wednesday night or next Friday from 11 to 2.
Dodgeball happens tonight at 8 at Scott Gym. It's a Trinidad State tradition. Bring your frustrations, leave without them.

Last month we held the SoCo BEST Robotics competition at Scott Gym. It was a huge success. Three teams, Raton High School, Primero and Manzanola qualified for the next round of competition in Denver!
Thursday, November 9, we'll host a Veterans Potluck from 11:00-1:00 in the Student Life Center on the Valley Campus. Everyone is welcome, we encourage you to bring a dish and support those who have served.
