Eastview Little League is hosting a free Major League Baseball® Jr. Home Run Derby™ Date: May 13, 2017 Time: 2:30pm - 6:30pm Location: Eastview Little League 766 Eastview Little League Drive, San Pedro, CA 90731 Major League Baseball® Jr. Home Run Derby™ provides players across the country an opportunity to participate in an exciting home run derby contest. Major League Baseball® Jr. Home Run Derby™ is a FREE national program for boys and girls, 14 years of age and under. Major League Baseball® Jr. Home Run Derby™ will test hitting skills and power to determine the best home run hitters in the country. Boys and Girls compete together in one of two age groups (12U or 14U) with the participant’s age being determined as of July 17, 2017. LEVELS OF COMPETITION & HOW TO ADVANCE Major League Baseball® Jr. Home Run Derby™ has three levels of competition – LOCAL, REGIONAL and NATIONAL FINALS. Each player must first participate at a LOCAL Competition. The Home Run Champion in each age group advances to the REGIONAL Competition. At the REGIONAL Competition, the scores are reset to zero and the Home Run Champion in each age group advances to the NATIONAL FINALS. If a tie exists at the Regional Competition, a hit-off will determine the Champion. The NATIONAL FINALS will be held prior to the MLB® Home Run Derby™ during MLB® All-Star Week™ All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
