Thomaston
We are pleased to hear Jim is doing better. The recognitions are very much appreciated, thank you! Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance Corps http://www.rep-am.com/opinion/yourpage/2017/04/06/thomaston-2/ "On March 7, I received a call at work from my husband’s sister, Anne. She told me she had just gotten off the phone with Jim, and that he seemed to be not himself and was talking out of the ordinary. Jim was having a stroke because of a condition we never knew he had: atrial fibrillation. I wish to thank all of the following for helping save his life, and for their support and help during his recovery: Anne Loveland, Jim’s sister, for calling him and noticing something was not right. John Pizzano, for leaving his business to go to our house; stay with Jim, who was home alone; and let emergency personnel inside. Thomaston Police, Officer Jason St. Onge and Sgt. Gary Roberts. Thomaston Ambulance, Danielle Ouellette and Dan DiFiore, for getting Jim the medical attention he needed. Danielle, thank you for holding my hand and telling me everything would be OK. Having that comfort really meant a lot to me. Saint Mary’s Hospital Emergency Department, All the doctors and nurses who worked with Jim. I apologize for not giving names, as there were a lot of them. They all were just wonderful in getting Jim the immediate care he needed and suggesting he go to Yale New Haven Hospital because of the severity of the stroke. Barbara Grenier, for insisting on going with me to Saint Mary’s. “Barb, I don’t know what I would have done without you!” Marlene and John Warren and Elvin and Elvira Dauti, for coming to the hospital for support. Marlene Warren, for driving me to Yale to be with Jim and staying with me until 2:30 a.m. “Mar, thank you a million times over!” Jim and Olivia Grenier and Steve Kawapien, for help taking care of our dog, Tazer, during Jim’s stay at the hospital. Dr. Jennifer Dearborn and Dr. Charles Matouk and their team at the Yale New Haven Stroke Unit for removing the 90 percent blockage from Jim’s brain. The entire Cardiac ICU and Stroke NICU teams at Yale New Haven Hospital, for the wonderful care they gave. Jim Grenier, Mike Madore, Roland Lamadeleine and John Bartoletti, for plowing our driveway during that heavy snowstorm on March 14. Jim was not physically ready to do it himself yet. Dr. Edmund Caporaso, Tammy, Nancy, Kathy and Darlene, for going above and beyond and for always being there when we need them. Dr. Kevin Kett of Franklin Medical Group Cardiology, for seeing Jim on an unscheduled/urgent visit after his discharge from Yale, and for getting him on the right track in controlling the AFib. A very special thank you to our families and friends for their support, prayers and cards. March 7 was the darkest day of my life, since I did not know about Jim’s future. March 10, 2017 was the brightest day of my life. I was able to bring Jim home with very few side effects from the stroke. Thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts. Donna Masciangioli, with Jim Masciangioli"
