Virtual Academy of Lafourche was founded in 2012 to provide quality online education for the K-12 students of Lafourche Parish. Virtual Academy of Lafourche was founded in 2012 to provide quality online
education for the K-12 students of Lafourche Parish. We look forward to working
with parents and students as the school year unfolds.
Students will complete their lessons at home using the Internet, with the
supervision of a parent and the guidance of a certified teacher. Tutoring sessions
are also available to VAL students who need extra help to master concepts.

The Virtual Academy of Lafourche is now a CLEP Center (College Level Examination Program) Why Take a CLEP Exam? 1. Earn College Credit: The main purpose for the CLEP (College Level Examination Program) is to earn college credit for knowledge gained outside the college classroom. 2. Saving Time: You will be able to save time in college, you can skip the classes you CLEP out of and get college credit, thus saving time by not having to take as many classes in college. 3. Saving Money: The cost to take a CLEP exam is currently $80 and an additional proctoring fee owed to the testing location. 3. Homeschool Validation: When students homeschool, there is always a question, either spoken or not, about the quality of education the students are receiving. By taking an examination like the CLEP exam it allows them to put some meat behind claims that homeschool students are receiving a solid education at home. To register go to: www.valcharter.org

May 16, 2017 St. Mary Site Parents and Students, Students should work on their academic program offsite until May 25, which is when classes will be closed unless otherwise advised. Check with your EC/SC, if they are not available please contact Misty Walker or me to reset assignments. If a student had been accomplishing the goal of 3% they would have been completed by the end of April, unless they started in January.
