Need your tastebuds to help us! We are considering changing to a new grass-fed beef vendor and want your input. Plus we are extending our hours next week, so this is the perfect combination! On Monday (29th) and Wednesday (2nd) from 5-8pm in Gilbert we are holding beef taste tests between our current vendor and a potentially new vendor. Come in, try the beef, and give us your feedback. It's that easy! As a thank you for lending us your tastebuds, you'll get *10% off* anything you buy that evening on the menu, in our retail section, or any service (consulting, infrared sauna, or massage)! (Does not include meal plans.) See you next week!

"Nourish is an organic cafe." What does that actually mean? We like to be transparent with our practices and teach our customers and clients about nutrition and wellness so they reach optimal health. Nourish recommends to our customers and nutrition clients to make every reasonable effort to eat as organically as possible, but we realize that it is impossible to do something 100% of the time unless you grow all your own food and control every ingredient 100% of the time. The legal definition of "organic" as identified by the FDA, there are four categories for organic labeling for prepackaged foods. • 100% Organic: All ingredients are produced organically. It also may have the USDA seal. • Organic: At least 95% or more of the ingredients are organic. • Made With Organic Ingredients: Contains at least 70% organic ingredients. • Less Than 70% Organic Ingredients: Three of the organic ingredients must be listed under the ingredient section of the label. Nourish makes every reasonable effort to use organic, non-GMO produce and ingredients in the cafes and meal plans along with wild sustainable fish, grass fed beef, and clean ingredients. For the Nourish cafés, in a small percentage of cases, local organic options are not available and Nourish is forced to use produce that is either not officially certified organic but are grown by farms that use organic practices or they are conventionally grown. For brief periods of time, some ingredients may not be available certified organic because of shortages due to gaps in the growing seasons or because of problems with rainfall and other weather conditions detrimental to growing. When financially reasonable, and appropriate to a recipe, these gaps or shortages are remedied with organic frozen produce. Otherwise, in some cases, conventional produce or eliminating menu items is necessary. Like many restaurants that choose to use organic ingredients, in some cases, Nourish may choose to use produce officially labeled “conventional” that is in fact produce grown by farms who follow organic practices but may not yet be certified organic because of waiting periods or cost of certification. Sometimes, Nourish is forced to temporarily make certain menu items or juices unavailable because we are unable to get organic ingredients. Should you have specific questions beyond this article, please email us or give us a call and we will be happy to address your questions.

Sadly, the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) ended their contract with Nourish and closed the doors to the cafe. Like many organizations who in theory support and recommend organic, local, non-GMO, whole foods for achieving optimal health, the school is seeing the many challenges of staying committed to that goal on a commercial level. Though the Nourish mission is perfectly aligned with naturopathic philosophy, the business philosophies for the two organizations were not. We are frustrated for the students, patients, customers, and faculty who we will no longer have the opportunity to serve, but look forward to working with customers and clients in our Gilbert location. Should you have questions or concerns, please post them below or shoot us an email to nourish@nourish123.com.

Allergies making you crazy, but don't want to take meds? Check out: Quercetin. It's a natural antihistamine found in foods, but with no side effects like Benadryl, Zyrtec, Claritin, or Allegra. In fact, Quercetin helps the body by boosting mitochondria and the speed of nerve conductivity. We recommend "Alpha-Glycosyl Isoquercitrin" which is 18X more bioavailable than Quercetin alone. You can pick it up at Nourish Gilbert or you can have it delivered to your house from Nourish online dispensary partner NP Script™. Get a 15% discount on Isoquercitrin if you order through http://www.NPScript.com *Use code 1778* to get the discount on any purchase made, on any supplement in February.
