Red House BBQ and The Shed will be open on Easter Sunday. Hours for both will be from 11am to 8pm. Please be advised that The Shed menu has completely changed. It is a Soul Food menu now. You can pre order by phone at either location. The Farmers market in The Shed is still under construction. The dining room seats about 50 people now. Thank you all.

Contrary to popular belief, Red House BBQ is NOT closing. What I wrote and what the paper wrote, is that I closed The Shed to care for my mom and that in the future, if need be, I would do whatever I needed to, to care for my mother (including closing Red House). Red House is open and doing fine. My staff has stepped it up and is doing well. My mom and I have found a rhythm and we're doing good. I also have help watching her so that frees me up to go back to work. The Shed is reopening with a new feel and new menu and with me in the kitchen. Again, Red House BBQ is alive and well and ready to serve you. If you have any questions at all, message me. The Shed with the new Soul Kitchen is opening very soon.

Red House will have our Family Feast on special for the Super Bowl this Sunday. The Feast consists of a Full Rack of Ribs, 1lb. of Brisket, 1lb. of Pulled Pork, a Whole Chicken, choice of 2 Sides, Salad, Bread and BBQ Sauce. This usually costs $70 but, for this Super Bowl Sunday, it's only $60!!!! Pre order yours before we run out!

Due to weather, Red House will be closing at 5pm tonight. If you ordered a turkey or a ham, they will be ready for pickup at the scheduled time of 5pm. We will reopen on Wednesday at 11am. Merry Christmas!

So, before all the rumors start going around and the typical BS starts to fly, I want to make something very clear and precise. December 24th will be the last day that The Shed will be open. This decision although difficult, was not hard to make. My mother has Alzheimer's and dementia. I have decided to take care of my mom and move her into my home so that hopefully, I can get 1 or 2 years with her while she still knows who I am. I have completely rebuilt my downstairs bathroom to be ADA compliant for her. I need to spend a very good amount of money to do the same to much of my home. I can not do all of this and run multiple businesses. The Shed is going up for sale and if need be, I'll liquidate Red House too. I feel for my staff at The Shed who has worked so hard to get this place back to life but, my mom comes first. I have to do what is right for her. The Shed will still be available to rent out for private parties and events until it is sold. I want to thank my staff and my community for understanding what I need to do. This has all come about very quickly. Caring for my mom is a 24 hour a day task and I really need to be there for her. I'm almost never at work anymore and I spend all my time with her. I'll pop into Red House from time to time to make sure things are where they need to be but, it won't be often. Believe me, I wish it was different but, this is reality and I need to deal with it. I had so many plans for The Shed and although they were taking longer than I would have liked, we have made great progress. We have spent the last few years upgrading the building and an entirely new menu was supposed to launch but sadly, it will not. I still have not decided what to do when it comes to the bakery. The candy store that has been added to the front of the building will hopefully remain open (I need to talk to the person who owns it) and I might keep the bakery open too as it will only have 1 or 2 people needed to run it. I'm just not sure at this time. So, there it is. Again, thank you goes out to my staff and to Tehachapi for letting me serve you. I've found this new chapter in my life to be very humbling and I need to do what I can for my mom. As far as any events that have already been booked with The Shed, they are still on. I'll honor my obligations. And, as for any Shed gift cards, they can be used at Red House. I will never not honor my word. Thank you all for your understanding. She means everything to me. I'm so sorry to my staff.

Having some fun with the sides today. We are offering Cheesy Potatoes and Red House Rice (rice with chicken, salsa and 3 kinds of cheese). Comfort Food. Tomorrow we are doing some Cajun Potatoes with hot links, celery, onions, garlic and cheese.

Today 12/15 we will be offering our Handcrafted Southern Fried Chicken. This is a favorite of mine that we do from time to time. Now's the time! This usually sells out so please come in and get yours before it's gone. You can always pre-order it over the phone with a credit card.

Red House is taking orders for Christmas Smoked Turkeys and Hams. Turkeys are 12lb. average weight and the hams are between 10 to 12lbs. Turkeys cost $45 and the Hams are $55. These will be available for either Dec. 24th (pick up around 5pm) or Dec. 25th (pickup at around noon). Quantities are limited and they must be pre paid. Red House and The Shed will be closed on Thanksgiving day so that my staff can spend time with their families (and a mini vacation from me hahaha). Both restaurants will reopen for their regular hours on Friday. Thank you and enjoy the holiday!
